Our Ministry Programs

Men's Ministries

The United Methodist Men is a group of men of all ages who gather for fellowship and inspirational meetings.  We sponsor service projects and contribute to special areas of need in the life of the church and community.  The Methodist Men of Noland Memorial meets the 2nd Saturday at 8:30am of each month in the Fellowship Hall here at Noland for breakfast, worship, and a program.

Our Men's Ministries support the distribution of "The Upper Room" to area hospitals and are helping to build a new group home for disabled persons.

Women's Ministries

The United Methodist Women gather for fellowship, study, service and mission. They meet as a large group several times annually and for special programs.

We also have two small groups that meet once a month. These groups are great for getting to know people better and they provide wonderful support and friendships.

Circle I meets the 2nd Monday every other month at 7pm here at Noland's Fellowship Hall. They have a program and enjoy light refreshments during their meetings. They also visit with the residents of The Newport Nursing home and enjoy working with crafts with them.

Circle II meets the 2nd Tuesday every other month at 11am also here at Noland's Fellowship Hall. They have a program and a light luncheon during their meetings as well.

We would love to have you join us for these interesting and informative meetings while we fellowship with one another.

Kids Korner

Here at Noland Memorial, your children are important to us.  We have Sunday School for all ages and a wonderful nursery staffed by caring individuals.  Music and art are wonderful ways for children to learn and we incorporate that into our teaching.  Bring you kids and come on down, we can't wait to meet you!

Music Ministries

Music is a high priority here at Noland Memorial and we have a choir for adults and older youth that sings on Sundays and at other special performances throughout the year.

If bells are your thing, then come join the Bell Choir!  This choir rings at selected services throughout the year.

The choir practices every Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the church.  They enjoy a variety of music with changing composer's and arrangements.  We hope you will join us in praising God through music!

Prayer Ministries

Prayer changes things!  Our Prayer Group meets weekly, Tuesday mornings at 10:00 a.m., and is at the core of Noland Memorial United Methodist Church.  The group lifts up causes for thanksgiving, interecession and petition.

Your need requests are welcome any time!

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God"  Phillippians 4:6

Community Outreach

Noland Memorial feels strongly about serving the community in which we are located.  We have several areas for which we provide outreach and are close to our heart.

Peninsula Marine Institute

During the week, we are the home of the Peninsula Marine Institute (PMI), a school for troubled students, helping them graduate and live productive lives.  Click on our PMI page to find out more.

Music at Noland Series

Various types of musical recitals - handbell, organ, choral and mixed - are offered several times each year.  Artists come from the surrounding area as well as from our own congregation.

Neighbor to Neighbor                                                                                                                Support in the form of volunteer help, financial contributions, food donations and other materials as needed goes to Newport News LINK, the Peninsula Rescue Mission, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church's Soup Kitchen, HELP in Hampton and to individuals as the need arises.

Peninsula Pastoral Counseling Center

Our church partners with the Peninsula Pastoral Counseling Center to provide counseling to individuals and families for just about any need you may have.  Click on our Counseling page to find out more.
