Activities for Singles

The Peninsula District Singles is a large group which encompasses all the churches in the district. PDS is a great way to network and make friends in a non-threatening environment. The group is directed by a Steering Committee composed of volunteers who assist with planning and executing the activities of the group. The Singles Ministry of the Virginia Peninsula District UMC's exists to provide a community of fellowship, service and mutual support. Although the organization is sponsored by the United Methodist Church, it is not necessary to be a Methodist to participate. All singles are welcome. We have a variety of ages and activities. There is no membership fee for the group, although some of the events require a small fee to cover the cost.

Fourth Saturday Dinners These are cheap eats and fun times. Different themes each time and fun for everyone! Bowling Group If you like to bowl, then grab your ball, put on your bowling shirt, slip on those special shoes and come on down! Concerts! If you like music, then, join our group and see the latest artists. Carpool with us or meet us there - just come! Nature Walks If you love getting out and enjoying nature, then you'll love this group. A variety of walks are enjoyed in peaceful settings. Movie Matinees and Movie Nights Are you a movie buff? Well so are the members of this group. See a flick and then engage in lively discussion over coffee... Attend Church with Us If you don't have a church home and would like to visit Noland Memorial or others in the disctict, give us a call at 757-245-3990! Day trips to local areas of interest, canoeing, hiking and bicycling have been popular. We are open to other ideas for events and activities - special speakers, programs, trips, dinner themes, etc. So bring your ideas and come on out!
